Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Benadir region have been urged to acquire new national IDs.
Officials from the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) and the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs (NCRI) appealed for this on Thursday.
They were in the region to launch a program to make the IDPs aware of the benefits of the cards.
The campaign seeks to encourage all IDPs to acquire free national IDs.
NIRA and NCRI reiterated their unwavering commitment to inclusivity and accessibility of the regional exercise and IDs to all Somalis in the country.
