President Muse Bihi Abdi has appointed a new Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs.
A statement from the Office of the President dated September 2 announced Dr. Essa Kayd Mohamud as the new foreign affairs minister.
Dr. Mohamud assumes his responsibilities with immediate effect.
The new minister takes over from Yasin Hagi Mohamud.
Dr. Mohamud’s appointment is part of the recent cabinet reshuffles that President Bihi made in his administration following the electoral losses that his party suffered.
