Blow to Ex-NISA Chief as Supreme Court Throws Out His Elections Case

The case that Fahad Yasin filed at the Supreme Court on the decision by the federal electoral body to cancel his victory has been thrown out.

The Supreme Court threw out the case Yasin filed against the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT).

Yasin is the immediate former head of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).

FEIT canceled the results of his electoral victory after he won a House of the People (Lower House) seat in HirShabelle.

The ex-NISA boss is a close ally of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.

The Supreme Court, which sat in Mogadishu, delivered the blow to Yasin’s hopes of joining the Lower House.

In its ruling on April 20, the Supreme Court ruled that it had no jurisdiction to hear the matter that Yasin presented before it.
