Conference on Distribution of All Somali Police Officers Kicks off in Mogadishu

A conference to discuss ways of distributing all Somali Police Force (SPF) officers around the country has kicked off.

The conference, which kicked off on Tuesday in Mogadishu, attracted senior SPF officers as well as their colleagues from the Police Unit of the Africa Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama was among the dignitaries attending the first day of the conference.

He was in the company of CP Hillary Sao Kanu, who attended the conference in his capacity as the ATMIS Police Commissioner.

High-ranking officials from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), and other international partners were present too.

They agreed on the importance of distributing all the 40,000 police officers in line with the dictates of the National Security Architecture that was signed in March 2023 in Baidoa.
