Leaders of Somalia’s Puntland and Galmudug States, President Said Abdullahi Deni and President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor, jointly inaugurated the Mudug Region Peace Promotion Conference in Galkayo on Saturday.
The conference aims to foster peace and strengthen relations between the two states, with a focus on promoting stability and addressing ongoing conflicts in the region.
Galkayo, located in the central part of Somalia, has long been a focal point for peacebuilding efforts due to its strategic position and history of conflict between the communities in Puntland and Galmudug.
