MOGADISHU — The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirrow, joined members of both parliamentary chambers in an experience-sharing workshop organized by the United Nations Transitional Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS).
The event centered on various electoral systems, parliamentary experience exchange, and enhancing knowledge of contemporary democratic practices.
During his opening statement, Deputy Speaker Abshirrow underscored the workshop’s significance for the legislature and stressed the vital role of elections in advancing democracy. He pointed out that such gatherings substantially support the improvement of Somalia’s electoral framework.
