DPC Boycotts Govt Meeting, Cites Lack of Transparency

Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Democratic Party for Change (DPC), led by presidential hopeful Mohamed Aden Ibrahim Farkeeti, has announced its boycott of a government-organized meeting.

Farkeeti said that his party will not attend the meeting with “Political Associations,” denouncing the event as politically driven and lacking transparency.

In a statement released Saturday, the DPC labeled the meeting “a politically motivated effort to counter opposition,” asserting it undermines the principles of fair political engagement.

The party called for a “clear, fair, and inclusive” national dialogue and reaffirmed its dedication to upholding electoral integrity and accountable governance.

The move highlights growing tensions between opposition parties and the current administration as the country gears up for its next political cycle.
