The federal Ministry of Education will prioritize Mogadishu when hiring new teachers for all schools in the country.
State Minister for Education Nuura Mustaf said that the government has made plans to hire 3,000 teachers
She added that the recruitment follows a similar exercise the government carried out last year.
However, she added that this year’s exercise would be slightly different from the one undertaken in 2023.
This year, the minister said, the priority would be Mogadishu.
Mustaf indicated that as the nation’s capital the quality of education in Mogadishu has to be excellent.
Nevertheless, she mentioned that the government would not neglect any part of the country that needs more teachers.
The new recruits will be for primary and secondary schools alike.
