The disbursement of €9 million in budget support by the European Union (EU) is a significant boost for Somalia as it strives to enhance public service delivery and support the operations of its Federal Member States.
Minister of Finance Bihi Egeh commended the EU for releasing the funds to support Somalia’s budget.
He mentioned that the financial aid reflects the EU’s recognition of Somalia’s progress in Domestic Revenue Mobilization and Public Financial Management reforms.
In Egeh’s view, the reforms have enabled the use of Somali systems by international partners.
The funds will help in ensuring the continuation of essential services and advancing Somalia’s sustainable development goals.
Somalia expresses deep gratitude for the EU’s ongoing commitment and partnership.
