A former leader of the ISIS militant group has passed away in a Puntland prison where he had been serving time for his past crimes.
Abdirahman Shirwac Lahore had been in a prison in Bosaso, a coastal town in Puntland.
The 60-year-old Lahore, who died on Tuesday, had defected from ISIS and surrendered to authorities in February 3 this year.
Since then, criminal investigators had been interrogating him over his past ties with the terrorist group that continues to threaten authorities and innocent members of the public.
