Farmaajo Accuses Roble of Failing to Lead Somalia to Credible Elections

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has accused Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble of “failure to lead Somalia into credible elections.”

Under Prime Minister Roble’s leadership, the country has already held elections for the Senate (Upper House) seats.

Currently, Somalia is holding elections for the House of the People (Lower House) seats.

On December 25, Farmaajo hit out at Prime Minister Roble’s leadership strongly.

According to President Farmaajo, the Prime Minister has failed to deliver the tasks that were assigned to him when he assumed office.

The President’s comments followed those by Mohamed Mursal, the immediate former Speaker of the Lower House.

Mursal had given the polls a clean bill of health.

Consequently, Farmaajo has called for an election redirection meeting.

He issued this call on Saturday, which is only two days before the convention of the National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting in Mogadishu.
