Farmaajo Appoints Former NISA Director His National Security Adviser

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has appointed Fahad Yasin, the immediate former Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), his new National Security Adviser.

A message from the Office of the President dated September 8 informed the nation of the changes within Farmaajo’s inner circles.

Farmaajo and Yasin have been close allies for years.

Different stakeholders have often accused Yasin of advocating for President Farmaajo’s interests while at NISA instead of being impartial.

Yasin’s appointment took place a few hours after Farmaajo informed the nation of his resignation from the director’s role at NISA.

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble had sacked Yasin following the shocking murder of a female NISA agent, Ikran Tahlil.

Yasin’s isn’t the only fresh appojntment that Farmaajo announced.

Others were Abdisaid Muse Ali who takes over as the new Chief of Staff of the Presidency. Colonel Yasin Abdullahi Mohamud is the new Head of NISA, as per Farmaajo’s statement.
