President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has called the recent decision by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to sack the internal security minister “illegal and unconstitutional.”
Farmaajo issued a hard-hitting statement on September 8 condemning Roble’s decision.
His comments came a few hours after Roble sent Hassan Hundubey Jimale, the Minister of Internal Security, home.
A statement from the Office of the President said that Roble’s decision to sack Jimale and appoint a new internal security minister is not in line with the country’s constitution.
Further, President Farmaajo went ahead to accuse the Prime Minister of running the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) “inappropriately.”
According to Farmaajo, Jimale remains the Minister of Internal Security.
He expects Jimale to continue discharging his duties.
