President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo invited the two interim speakers of both chambers of the federal parliament for a meeting.
Farmaajo’s meeting with the two interim speakers took place on April 16.
The President met with the speakers at Villa Somalia.
His meeting with the speakers came a few hours after the House of the People (Lower House) held its first session.
On Thursday, the Lower House appointed Abdisalam A. Liban Dhabancad as its interim Speaker.
The Upper House also appointed Mohamed A. Yusuf Gaagaab to sit in the Speaker’s seat on an interim basis.
President Farmaajo congratulated Dhabancad and Gaagaab on their appointment.
