President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has vowed to proceed with preparations for parliamentary and presidential elections.
His latest comments appear to pour cold water on the numerous concerns that presidential candidates from the opposition have raised over election preparations.
For several weeks now, the opposition candidates have urged for the reconstitution of the membership of Federal Intermit Electoral Team (FIET).
According to them, FIET is full of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) officers, civil servants, and Farmaajo’s loyalists.
Consequently, they believe the upcoming elections would be anything but fair, free, and credible.
Farmaajo has now urged the Federal Government of Somalia to proceed with preparations for this month’s local and parliamentary polls.
