The Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) has canceled elections of two House of the People (Lower House) seats.
FEIT canceled the results of elections carried out in Southwest regional state over electoral irregularities.
One of the seats is HOP#103.
It’s the seat formerly held by Mohamed Osman Jawari, ex-Speaker of the Lower House.
Jawari had complained of massive fraud in the elections.
He alleged a lack of transparency and unfairness.
Initially, FEIT responded to Jawari’s complaints with a call for the postponement of the elections. However, local poll organizers ignored their order.
The other seat whose elections FEIT has canceled is HOP#154.
FEIT canceled the results on December 5 while announcing that it would communicate the new elections dates later.
