Mohamed Irro, the Chairman of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team (FEIT), has been sent packing.
Fellow FEIT members voted Irro out of office on December 25.
Earlier in the day, two local radio stations made this claim only for the stunning development to be dismissed.
However, it’s now confirmed that Irro is out of office.
FEIT members accused Irro of incompetence.
In their view, the FEIT Chairman was also guilty of mixing his work with politics thus failing to fulfill his mandate.
Opposition politicians have kept off the ongoing parliamentary elections.
They have repeatedly called the elections a farce, unfair, and lacking in credibility.
The opposition fears that if the electoral results are allowed to stand as they are, then Somalia could find itself going down a dangerous path of instability and destruction.
