The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has blamed regional state leaders from Jubbaland and Puntland for the collapse of the electoral talks that have been taking place since April 3.
An official statement by Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu, FGS spokesperson, attributed the collapse directly to President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland and President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland.
Moalimuu, who also doubles as the Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, said that Deni and Madobe had been against the agreement that other FGS and Federal Member States (FMS) leaders were discussing.
According to Moalimuu, President Deni and President Madobe had shown up for the electoral discussions with their anti-election agendas. He mentioned that Deni and Madobe were solely to blame for the collapse.
