The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) seeks a political pact with the regional state of Puntland.
The Puntland administration has been at loggerheads with Mogadishu for awhile now.
It failed to attend the recent National Consultative Council (NCC) between the federal government and regional states.
However, Ahmed Moaliim Fiqi says that a political solution is in the offing.
Fiqi is the federal Minister of Internal Affairs.
He said this during an interview with The East African.
The minister called Puntland a “vital component” of Somalia’s federal system.
