Ex-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called for increased transparency in the ongoing elections in Somalia.
The East African nation is already through with Senate (Upper House) elections.
Currently, it’s holding elections for the House of the People (Lower House) elections around the country.
Thereafter, Somalia would conclude the elections when the Members of Parliament (MPs) vote for the country’s new president.
Now, ex-President Mohamud is of the opinion that the elections have been anything but transparent.
Consequently, he has called for “inclusive and transparent” elections and electoral process.
His calls come after some candidates were unable to vie for their preferred seats.
On December 5, Mohamud said that a transparent process benefits everyone who is running for the presidency.
