A fresh operation by the Somali National Army (SNA) killed more than 40 Al-Shabaab militants in the East African nation.
The military confirmed that its officers killed the militants in an operation carried out on Monday.
Military officers undertook the operation in Mudug jointly with their colleagues from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
The military operation was a response to an initial attack by the militants.
Al-Shabaab militants carried out an attack against a municipality building in the nation’s capital.
