Mohamoud Adan Geesood has officially taken over as Somalia’s new Minister of Ports and Marine Transport.
Geesood assumed his new responsibilities in a handing over function held at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Last week, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced his appointment as the new ports minister.
His commitment to fast-tracking the development of ports and marine infrastructure is promising for Somalia’s economic future.
Building on the strong groundwork set by his predecessor, Gen. Abdullahi Ahmed Jama Ilkajiir, this new leadership marks a significant step toward enhancing the nation’s connectivity, trade, and overall growth.
