The Chairperson of the Jubbaland’s State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) met with African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) officials on Saturday.
During the March 19 meeting, Dr. Siyad Mohamed Mursal and the AMISOM team discussed security-related issues.
Jubbaland is yet to conclude elections for its House of the People (Lower House) seats.
It’s the only regional state – together with HirShabelle – yet to conclude Lower House elections.
The regional state is scheduled to hold elections for the few remaining seats in Kismayo.
Dr. Mursal encouraged the AMISOM officers to find ways of bolstering security at the election venues.
