President Ali Hussein Gudlawe of the regional state of HirShabelle has sacked the new Governor of Hiiraan.
President Gudlawe announced that Abdillahi Maalin Sufurow ceases being the Governor of Hiiraan with immediate effect.
Sufurow was appointed the Hiiraan Governor only last year in June.
He took over from Ali Jeyte Osman who President Gudlawe sent packing.
Since then, Jeyte has led efforts to have Hiiraan break free from HirShabelle and become an independent regional state.
Following Sufurow’s sacking, President Gudlawe appointed Muse Salaad Weheliye as the new Governor of Hiiraan.
