Interior Minister Inspects SSC-Khaatumo State Formation Progress

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Hon. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, conducted an inspection visit to the headquarters of the Technical Committee responsible for the establishment of the SSC-Khaatumo State Administration.

During the visit, Hosh engaged directly with committee members to assess the progress made in implementing the federal government’s directive to facilitate the formation of a local administration in the SSC-Khaatumo region. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, transparency, and adherence to the Provisional Federal Constitution in guiding the process.

The minister commended the Technical Committee for their commitment to their national duty and urged them to continue their efforts with impartiality and a focus on reconciliation and stability. He also reiterated the federal government’s commitment to supporting locally-driven governance structures that reflect the will of the people and contribute to national cohesion.

The Technical Committee, composed of experts and community representatives, is mandated to guide the transitional process towards the establishment of a legitimate and representative local administration for the SSC-Khaatumo areas, following recent political developments and ongoing reconciliation efforts.

This initiative comes amid intensified efforts by the federal government of Somalia to promote decentralized governance and address longstanding grievances in various regions across the country.
