The International Press Institute (IPI) has condemned Somali authorities for re-arresting a local journalist.
Somali police rearrested Abdalle Ahmed Mumin, an award-winning journalist earlier this week.
Mumin has been in and out of police custody since October 2022.
On Friday, IPI issued a statement condemning the authorities for detaining Mumin at Mogadishu’s Jazeera Hotel on February 23.
The global network called for the journalist’s immediate release.
It added that authorities in the East African nation have to end their nonstop attacks on press freedom with immediate effect.
