Jubbaland has sent congratulatory messages to Ali Guudlawe for his election as the new President of HirShabelle.
Guudlaawe takes over from the immediate former President Mohamed Abdi Waare, who resigned from office on November 4.
His resignation came a few days before the expiry of his term.
On Sunday, November 15, President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland congratulated Guudlaawe for emerging victorious in the November 11 elections.
Madobe joins President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and other opposition leaders in hailing Guudlaawe and other HirShabelle leaders who were elected on Wednesday.
Before elections, several opposition politicians had accused Villa Somalia of supporting Guudlaawe thus risking the peace and stability of HirShabelle.
Guudlaawe, who is reportedly close to Farmaajo, is yet to be sworn in, though.
