Justice Minister Condemns the Murder of 7 Family Members by Al-Shabaab

Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama, the newly appointed Minister of Justice in the Federal Government of Somalia, has condemned the recent murder of seven family members by Al-Shabaab militants.

On Tuesday, November 24, seven members of the same family, including a pregnant mother, were butchered by Al-Shabaab extremists in Wajid District, Bakool region, which is in the southwestern parts of the country.

The motive of the attack remains unknown today.

Justice Minister Jama condemned the senseless killing of the family members.

He called Al-Shabaab “unscrupulous” saying that the Al-Qaeda linked group was the only militia capable of killing a pregnant mother and her young children. Jama urged the remaining family members, relatives and the people of Wajid to be patient.

Further, he encouraged them to have faith in the government’s ability to investigate the matter further and bring the culprits to book. In recent days, the government has increased its military operations against Al-Shabaab in different parts of the country.
