President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen of the regional state of Southwest hosted a delegation from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) on Tuesday.
Laftagareen hosted a team that included SODMA Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim.
Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama was also part of the delegation that toured Baidoa to assess the impact of the ongoing floods.
Jama then visited several camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Baidoa.
He warned local residents of the likely outbreak of waterborne diseases as floods and heavy rains continue unabated.
Lack of shelter and malnutrition have also become huge threats in the IDP camps.
