Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe of the House of the People (Lower House) has announced new counterterrorism operations in Bakool.
The parliamentary Speaker announced the operations on Wednesday, December 14.
He was speaking while on a visit to Hudur town in the regional state of Southwest where he held consultations with local leaders and residents.
Speaker Madobe has been in the region for much of this week to reconcile warring factions.
During his tour, Speaker Madobe informed residents that their lives would improve once they get rid of Al-Shabaab from the town.
He told them to support the anti-terror measures that the government continues to institute against Al-Shabaab militants in the region.
