The Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House) says that Somalia will not pass any bill that contravenes Islamic laws.
Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe issued this stern warning on Wednesday.
Madobe’s address to the media touched on recent claims that he either held talks or signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with international partners on gay rights.
He denied such talks, meetings, or MoUs taking place between him and any other person or organization.
