Mayor Filish Warns Pastoralists to Remove Their Animals from the Streets

Mayor Omar Mohamud Mohamed Filish has warned livestock farmers in Mogadishu against allowing their animals to roam the capital’s streets freely.

He has urged them to remove their animals from the streets with immediate effect.

This represents the second time that Mayor Filish’s administration has warned livestock farmers over this habit.

He termed the presence of animals on the capital as an “eyesore.”

Mayor Filish, who also doubles as the Governor of Benadir Region, said that the presence of the animals on the streets prevents smooth flow of traffic.

Recently, Filish launched a livestock search center in Mogadishu but that has not encouraged farmers to remove their animals from the streets.
