Meeting of Regional State Leaders Postponed Following Request for Roble’s Inclusion

A meeting of regional state leaders that was to kick off on September 20 in Garowe has now been called off after it emerged that Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble hadn’t been invited.

All the five leaders of the Federal Member States (FMS) were to start gathering  in Garowe from Monday.

However, they now have to wait for further details.

The decision to postpone the meeting was taken following a request by President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor of Galmudug.

Initially, the leaders announced the meeting as part of their efforts to get to the bottom of the escalating hostility between Prime Minister Roble and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.

In their view, the Roble-Farmaajo war had already created a rift in the National Consultative Council (NCC).
