Nairobi — Kenya Police FC have called on their fans to turn up in numbers at Nyayo National Stadium this weekend as they prepare for the return leg against Mogadishu City Club in the CAF Champions League preliminaries.
The Kenyan side head into Sunday’s clash with a strong advantage after a 3–1 victory in the first leg, also staged at Nyayo last Saturday. Erick Zakayo fired Police ahead early, before Adan Yusuf briefly restored hope for the Somali champions. But goals from Edward Omondi and David Simiyu swung the tie firmly in Police’s favour.
For Mogadishu City Club, who were forced to play their “home” fixture in Nairobi due to CAF venue requirements, the loss was a bitter blow. Their task is now monumental: they must overturn a two-goal deficit away from home, against a side brimming with confidence and backed by home support.
Kenya Police FC officials said the fans’ energy could prove decisive, urging supporters to “paint Nyayo blue” and drive the team into the next round. For Mogadishu City, however, the return leg is not just about survival in the competition — it is a test of resilience and pride on the continental stage.
Kick-off is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, at Nyayo National Stadium, where both sides will be chasing history from very different starting points.
