Police officers in Mogadishu raided a number of houses where criminals process illegal and harmful drugs.
The police raided 10 houses.
Mahdi Omar, Commissioner of the Benadir Regional Police, confirmed the raid carried out by members of his force.
He added that the move was part of the local administration’s move to clean the region.
The raid took place a day after Mayor Yusuf Madale promised to launch an operation against criminal gangs and drug dealers in Mogadishu.
Police officers confiscated equipment used for making liquor and hard drugs.
