Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia, will soon host a 4-day forum on the role of the civil society in countering extremist ideology in the country.
Somalia’s Minister of Information, Daud Aweis, announced this on Sunday.
This highlights the critical role of civil society in countering extremist ideologies.
The event is organized by the Tubsan Center in collaboration with the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPT-Aswan).
It seeks to bring together experts and stakeholders to develop strategies for enhancing community resilience against radical narratives.
This initiative underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between government institutions, civil society organizations, and international partners in addressing the root causes of extremism. By fostering dialogue and sharing best practices, the forum seeks to empower communities to resist extremist ideologies and promote peace and stability in the region. Such efforts are essential in building a cohesive society that can effectively counteract the spread of radicalization.
