Madina Hospital in Mogadishu will soon have a new full-capacity emergency center.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre led other federal government officials in laying a foundation stone at the facility.
Other officials that joined him included Dr. Ali Hajiadam Abubakar and Mahamuud Moallim.
Dr. Abubakar is the Minister of Health while Moallim is the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA).
Gen. Sulub Ahmed, the Somali Police Force (SPF) chief, was present too.
SODMA and Madina will collaborate in running the facility to ensure that it provides urgent care to wounded patients.
