New Judges Appointed by President Farmaajo to Join Benadir Courts

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has announced the appointment of two new judges to serve in Benadir courts.

The appointment of the new judges is part of the judicial reforms currently underway in the Horn of Africa nation.

In a statement issued from his Villa Somalia office, Farmaajo said Muse Moalim Mohamed and Abshir Omar Abdullahi have been relieved of their duties.

Mohamed was the Chairman of Benadir Regional Court whereas Abdullahi served as the Chief of the Regional Appellate Court.

President Farmaajo said he took the decision following recommendations from Ahmed Baashe Yussuf Ahmed, a judge of the country’s Supreme Court.

The two newly appointed judges were identifies as Mohamed Abdikadir Hassan and Mohamed Ahmed Osman.

Hassan takes over as the new High Court Judge of Benadir Region while Osman will serve as the Head of the Regional Appellate Court in Benadir.

While announcing the changes, Farmaajo asked the judges to uphold the rule of law fully while discharging their duties and serving all people equally without discrimination or favoritism.
