Newly elected councilors from Qardho district in Puntland took their oaths of office on Monday.
The councilors won their local government elections in October 2021.
Last year, Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) held historic one-person-one-vote (1P1V) elections for local government offices.
The elections took place in three districts – Qardho, Eyl, and Ufeyn.
Councilors from Qardho took their oaths of office on April 14.
They created history by becoming the first councilors elected from Qardho in the last five decades.
