The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) says that Somalis have the right to information.
NUSOJ stated this on September 28 while commemorating the International Day for Universal Access to Information.
The access to information day is celebrated worldwide.
According to the organization, the right to information is critical for a wide range of activities.
First, it is necessary for making decisions. It is also a necessity for participation in democratic governance as well as increasing transparency around the country.
Therefore, it urged authorities not to deny Somalis access to information.
