Over 7,000 Somali Women Underwent Emergency C-Sections in 2021

More than 7,000 Somali women received life-saving emergency C-Sections in 2021.

The women received the procedures courtesy of the intervention of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

UNFPA says that 7,982 women in the East African nation benefited from the emergency C-Sections.

According to the international organization, the women received the services from 23 facilities.

The facilities provide comprehensive emergency obstetric care (CEmONC).
