MOGADISHU, Somalia – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, presided over the closing ceremony of the 6th Somali Youth Leadership and Innovation Summit in Mogadishu, delivering a message of national optimism and empowerment.
Addressing young leaders, innovators, and policymakers, President Mohamud declared that the nation has reached a significant turning point. He affirmed that “Somalia has moved forward and has set its foot on the path of progress and prosperity,” indicating a new era of stability and development for the country.
The President’s keynote address highlighted the crucial role of the younger generation in maintaining this national momentum. He encouraged the youth to assume leadership positions, emphasizing that the state’s revival depends on their energy, creativity, and vision.
“The country today greatly needs youth leadership. For this reason, I believe that you have the potential to accomplish great things for development,” Mohamud stated during the ceremony.
He urged the youth to actively engage in the numerous development projects currently taking place throughout the country, noting that leadership and innovation are essential elements for contemporary governance.
The closing event was attended by a high-level delegation, including members from both Houses of the Federal Parliament, government officials, representatives from various civil society organizations, and other distinguished guests.
The summit has functioned as an important platform for dialogue, encouraging Somali youth to directly engage with national issues and contribute to the country’s strategic direction.
