President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is at the forefront of the calls for the establishment of the Somali Professional Accountancy Organization.
The Somali President presided over a meeting at Villa Somalia on Saturday, September 10 that discussed the importance of creating such an organization in the East African nation.
Several senior government officials were at the meeting too.
These included Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and Auditor-General Mohamed Ali Afgoi among others.
Participants at the meeting believe that such an organization would advance the accountancy profession across the country.
It would also help to regulate the sector and infuse it with professionalism.
