President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has led Somalia in mourning Queen Elizabeth II.
Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth died peacefully in her sleep on the evening of Thursday, September 8.
The President passed his deepest condolences together with those of the people and government of Somalia to the people and government of the United Kingdom.
Queen Elizabeth has led her country since 1952.
She became the Queen while on a vacation in Kenya together with her late husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
In his message of condolences, President Mohamud said that Queen Elizabeth had represented her nation and citizens with great honor and dignity at home and abroad.
