President Mohamud Highlights Somalia’s Security and Development Goals at Doha Forum

Doha, Qatar – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Doha for an official visit to Qatar, where he will participate in the Doha Forum and engage in discussions to enhance political and economic ties between the nations.

Upon his arrival at Hamad International Airport, senior Qatari officials welcomed the President, highlighting the strengthening relations between the two governments. In recent years, Somalia and Qatar have broadened their collaboration in security, economic development, and humanitarian initiatives.

During his visit, President Mohamud is scheduled to meet with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to address security dynamics in the Horn of Africa, Somalia’s stabilization progress, and the future trajectory of bilateral relations. Additional talks with Qatari leadership are planned throughout the visit.

Through his involvement in the Doha Forum, Somalia will be positioned at the center of global conversations regarding security, geopolitics, and development.

According to Somali officials, the president intends to leverage this platform to call for enhanced international involvement in Somalia’s stabilization, climate adaptation, and economic transformation.

This visit occurs as Mogadishu strives to extend its diplomatic connections and secure increased investment as part of its enduring state-building objectives.
