The Minister of Health and Social Care, she is from Hiraan region, was born in Jowhar in 1960 and received primary and secondary education in Mogadishu from the Banadir secondary school. She graduated from the law school of the public university in 1985, after which she served as an assistant professor. She earned her master’s degree and a PhD in Italy. A master’s degree in Health Management Services at the Institute of the Istituto Superiore di Sanitá in Rome. She got her PhD degree in Public Health from University l’Universitá degli Studi di Roma, ‘La Sapienza’.
