Mohamed Ali Hassan, the regional state Minister of Public Works, has been elected the new Member of Parliament (MP) for the Southwest 103 parliamentary seat.
This particular seat has been on the national limelight ever since the immediate former MP, Mohamed Jawari, claimed that the polls would not be fair, credible, or transparent.
Moreover, Jawari had withdrawn from the contest.
Various stakeholders – including the Prime Minister and the Chairperson of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team (FEIT) – took note of Jawari’s concerns.
They vowed to make the polls all-inclusive affairs.
Initially, there were reports that the federal polls body had called for postponement of the elections for the HOP#103 seat.
Nevertheless, the Southwest State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) opted to proceed with the polls.
