Puntland State of Somalia, the country’s first semi-autonomous region, nicknamed the “mother of federalism,” is celebrating its 26th anniversary.
Established in 1998, Puntland has played a significant role in the federal structure of Somalia, advocating for regional autonomy and self-governance while contributing to the broader stability and development of the nation.
The celebration marks over two decades of Puntland’s efforts in governance, economic development, and regional peace.
President Said Abdullahi Deni will lead the residents of the regional state in celebrating the 26th anniversary of its founding.
