The regional state of Puntland has concluded elections for federal parliamentary seats.
Puntland’s State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) held elections for the six remaining seats on March 18.
Consequently, Puntland becomes the third regional state to conclude the elections.
It follows the examples set by Southwest and Galmudug, which were the only regional states to hold the Lower House polls by the March 15 deadline.
Somaliland also concluded its elections. It was the first region to do so.
Now, only Jubbaland and HirShabelle are yet to conclude elections for their House of the People seats.
Friday’s elections took place in Garowe.
