President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor of Galmudug State met with the British Ambassador to Somalia on December 2.
During Tuesday’s meeting, Qoorqoor and Ambassador Ben Fender discussed the current electoral impasse in Somalia.
The East African nation was to hold local and parliamentary elections from December 1.
However, problems and misunderstandings have risen up between the political leaders and parties in the country.
Opposition parties are demanding the reconstitution of electoral commissions, which they accuse the government of filling with civil servants, spies, and loyalists.
Qoorqoor discussed these issues in detail with Ambassador Fender.
They also discussed the need for Britain to support economic and social development opportunities throughout Somalia.
